It is STILL a HOOT to watch Idiots at Work! Fairy Reid, Nazi Piglosi and the Dithering Doofus are driving the DNC off of a CLIFF in RECORD time! The scalps taken by us Racist Mobsters are piling up FAST! The BACKLASH against Leftist Ideology is CONTINUING to GROW! It is a LONG way to 2010 and a LONGER way to 2012, so we MUST stay ENGAGED, keep the pressure on and we MUST develop LEADERS and get them ELECTED! If we are NOT represented in Washington, we will NEVER see our Values/Principles enacted into PUBLIC POLICY.
I apologize for not mentioning to anyone that I would be AWOL for a couple of weeks over the holiday. LOTS of traveling had to be done and online time was SCARCE, although my elderly mother went online for the first time in the week before Christmas. During my travels over the holidays, I saw 2 things that point to a Liberal Armageddon in November. While driving through Murtha's District, I saw a billboard which read: Coal, America's Energy. No Government Bailout required. Also in BWI Airport, there is a store that sells political souvenirs. ALL of the Blithering Barry garbage has been moved to the back corner of the store. The Main Window was given over to T-Shirts, Caps and Bumper Stickers which read: Don't blame me, I voted for McCain/Palin. These items were FLYING off the shelves. I passed a DOZEN folks wearing them in about 100 yards. But I wonder how many MORE were tucked in suitcases or covered by jackets as there was a fair to middling winter storm going on at the time?
I just finished my 2nd reading of "Liberty and Tyranny" by Mark Levin. For those of you who haven’t read it, Mark Levin is a JUNKYARD DOG of a Constitutional Scholar who breaks down Liberalism vs. Conservatism on EVERY level in MINUTE DETAIL! Books like this are usually VERY dry, but somehow/someway, Mark writes in a manner that makes the material VERY compelling. I recommend that you read it 4-5 times in the space of a year. Because the material is VERY detailed and VERY compelling, it opens your eyes to ideas, concepts and truths that were HIDDEN in PLAIN SIGHT! You will NEVER digest EVERYTHING in just one reading, hence my recommendation for multiple readings over a SHORT period of time. I finished my 2nd reading n Valentine’s Day and hope to start my 3rd by Easter.
I have posted the Principles of Liberal Math on NUMEROUS threads. I have received SEVERAL requests to flesh them out, so that is what I will do in this post. Since Liberals DO NOT believe in ABSOLUTES such as RIGHT or WRONG, these Principles are subject to change at the merest whim, the drop of a hat or a change in the direction of the wind. But I THINK they cover most of the positions and arguments espoused by Liberals. So without any further adieu, I present the 5 Principles of Liberal Math.
I. Winning=Losing
The Liberal FASCINATION with the Self Esteem of children is what drives this principle. According to Liberals, if a child LOSES a competition, they will suffer UNRECOVERABLE damage to their self esteem. While NOBODY likes to lose, it is UNAVOIDABLE. A child WILL lose in LIFE! Be it at a job, at love or in competition. HOWEVER this THEORY outright IGNORES the fact that the plus side of what VICTORY does for a child’s self esteem. Be it learning to tie their shoes or learning to hit a ball SOLIDLY with a bat, all VICTORIES, GREAT and SMALL, are of INCALCULABLE value to the psyche of a child. It is how WE as parents mitigate, explain and teach children HOW to deal with DEFEAT that is the CORNERSTONE of SELF ESTEEM. The most GLARING example of this is Tee Ball. Either the coaches pitch to their respective teams or the players hit off a tee, hence the name. NO outs are recorded, EVERY player gets to bat EVERY inning and any INCENTIVE to WORK at IMPROVING the skills required in the various facets of the game is NEGATED! WHAT of VALUE does a child LEARN from this experience?
II. Losing=Winning
The Liberal FASCINATION with the Self Esteem of children is what drives this principle also. According to Liberals, if a child LOSES a competition, they will suffer UNRECOVERABLE damage to their Self Esteem. So Liberals TRY to MITIGATE the TRAUMA of LOSING by rewriting the rules of baseball into the MONSTROSITY of Tee-Ball and make failure INCONSEQUENTIAL and as close to NONEXISTENT as possible. But AGAIN, all they do is subvert INVALUABLE Life Lessons for the sake of SELF ESTEEEM. What they FAIL to acknowledge/realize is that a child’s SELF ESTEEM would SOAR far HIGHER with VICTORY than it EVER will FALL with mitigated defeats. As a result of this, WHEN defeat comes calling in the REAL WORLD, there is NOWHERE to RUN, NOWHERE to HIDE and no SOFT LANDING is provided. IMHO THIS is when Liberalism starts to fall apart for LOTS of folks.
III. Feelings=Facts
One of the SIGNATURE LIES of the 1960’s counterculture was “If it feels good, DO IT!” NOTICE how self-centered and irresponsible this statement is. DON’T worry about any immediate or long term consequences. If it feels good, JUST DO IT! Here we get into the self indulgent/narcissistic/spoiled nature of Liberals. Dr. Spock is the culprit here as a SEISMIC shift in Parental Discipline took place at some point in the Baby Boom Years. The use of these TRIED and TRUE Parental Standbys, the LOOK, the word “NO!” and the STRAP fell into disfavor. In my own personal experience, my father was 1 of 9 children. 8 of my aunts/uncles used the TRIED and TRUE methods and 1 used Doctor Spock’s method. This summer at my Family Reunion, ONLY 1 group of cousins was a NO SHOW! The history of incarceration, addiction, adultery and divorce amongst the 4 of them is STUNNING. Now you MIGHT say this is too SMALL of a sample, but I say the differences are too STARK to be IGNORED. IMHO the aforementioned LIE grew out of this laissez-faire style of parenting and led to the aforementioned pathologies becoming the RULE and NOT the EXCEPTION. This occurred when the aforementioned LIE was applied to Social Policy. The most GLARING example of this is the SINGLE MOTHER on WELFARE with MULTIPLE children to MULTIPLE fathers. It FEELS good to GIVE money to POOR people, so JUST DO IT! AGAIN the LONG TERM CONSEQUENCES are NEVER thought of. WHEN these Long Term Consequences INEVITABLY occur, SHOCK and DISBELIEF are the standard responses. These are accompanied by the BELIEF that the individual should bear NO RESPONSIBILITY for the CONSEQUENCES of their ACTIONS!
IV. Intentions=Results
WHEN the FALLACY of Principle III rises up and ALL their effort is for naught, Liberals ALWAYS say that they did it with the Best of Intentions and we all KNOW what the road to hell is paved with. The problem is that Liberals THINK that they KNOW what the outcome WILL be BEFORE they undertake ANY action. This is like a scientist saying, “I will lay naked in an empty bathtub and have someone pour BOILING water on me and I will NOT be harmed!” Then being SHOCKED when they end up in the burn unit. IMHO this mindset of THINKING that they KNOW what the outcome will be BEFORE they take ANY action is the driving force behind 2 of the BIGGEST threats to America, the Global Warming Envirotards and Barack Hussein Obama. I MAY be wrong, but it looks for all the world like both entities THOUGHT that they KNEW what the outcome of their actions would be BEFORE they took these actions. Now that the FALLACY of their ACTIONS/BELEIFS have been EXPOSED, they have been TRYING to find a way to make their RESULTS conform to their INTENTIONS. It’s like they have NEVER been WRONG and/or have NEVER been TOLD they are WRONG! So in effect, they are now engaged in trying to DIG their way out of a HOLE! Once AGAIN the FALLACIOUSNESS of LIBERALISM it put on display for all to see.
V. Perception=Reality
IRRATIONAL EMOTIONALITY is a HALLMARK of LIBERALISM. Consider their GUSHING Love Affair with the last 2 Liberal Presidents. Bill Clinton, a Pot Bellied, Red Nosed, Middle Aged, Momma’s Boy was made out to be a SEX SYMBOL?!?!?! Barack Obama, a Sail Eared, Effeminate, Momma’s Boy was characterized the SAME WAY times 10!?!?!? IF they would only apply this principle to such trivial matters as the sex appeal of Liberal Presidents, musicians and actors like they USUALLY do, it would not be a big deal. SADLY they apply it EVERYWHERE to EVERYTHING, but the most DAMAGING application of this principle occurs when it is applied to POLITICIANS and/or POLITICS.
HOW many of you remember when Nazi Piglosi was elected Speaker of the House? Do you remember the GUSHING quotes from the MSM? For example: http://newsbusters.org/node/9970
WHAT did Charlie Gibson base this statement on? WHY did he make this statement? Was and/or is there ANY basis for this statement or did he PERCEIVE it to be REALITY? I remember watching the Election Returns in the fall of 1980. The price of a gallon of gasoline had DOUBLED, unemployment was in DOUBLE DIGITS as was the PRIME RATE. But the MSM Talking Heads were CONFIDENT of a Jimmy Carter Victory. WHAT did they base this belief on? WHY did they believe it to be so? Was there ANY basis for this belief or did they PERCEIVE it to be REALITY? LAST but CERTAINLY not LEAST, there is the SLOBBERING LOVE AFFAIR the MSM had with MMMM! MMMM! MMMM! Barack Hussein Obama. BTW, the book of that title by Bernie Goldberg is EXCELLENT! We all heard about the TINGLE up Chris Matthews’ leg, but that PALES in COMPARISON to other media talking heads: http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=35023 ONCE AGAIN I ask, WHAT did they base these statements on? WHY did they make these statements? Was there ANY basis for these statements or did they PERCEIVE them to be REALITY?
So there you have a synopsis of the 5 Principles of Liberal Math. I think I can SAFELY conclude that we have proven 2 THINGS about Liberalism. The FIRST is that Liberals DO NOT believe in absolutes. Otherwise they would KNOW that you CANNOT expect something as CAPRICIOUS as Human Nature to react in the same way EVERY TIME! THAT is WHY Liberalism/Socialism/Communism, birds of a feather IMHO, fall flat WHENEVER and WHEREEVER they are tried. The SECOND is that Liberalism is VERY shallow and deals with only the SURFACE of the issues it CLAIMS to want to fix. For example, the “from each according to his ability to each according to his need” mantra CLAIMS to address the PERCEIVED inequality of Capitalism. HOWEVER it FAILS to address the FACT that folks are born with and develop different skills and/or attributes to generate income and the FACT that a select FEW of these skills/ attributes are FAR more valuable than others because people will PAY to see an individual DISPLAY these skills/attributes. For example, folks will pay to see Charlie Daniels play the fiddle and/or to see Peyton Manning throw a football. BUT they will NOT pay to watch me write code. For whatever reason, I was NOT born with musical talent and I was in a car accident that DESTROYED my rotator cuff and therefore, my throwing arm. ONE condition is the luck of the draw and the OTHER was the result of an accident. IN NO WAY was either situation influenced by FAIRNESS, it is simply the way things are. In conclusion, I think we can ALL agree that while folks of a Leftist stripe CLAIM to be HUMANISTS. They IGNORE the HUMANITY, the wants, dreams, desires and imperfections that make us HUMAN.
